गुरुदेव इतनी सरल भाषा में वेदांतदर्शन समझाते हैं कि कभी कभी विश्वास नहीं होता कि जिसके लिए बड़े बड़े ज्ञानी लोग कितना भटके यहाँ गुरुदेव के चरणों में बैठ कर उस बंधे हुए ज्ञान को सरलता से गांठ की तरह खोल देते हैं।

देखो, यह एक गाँठ है। (एक कपड़े में अलग-अलग तीन गाँठें लगाईं)। पहले नंबर की गाँठ का नाम रख लो जाग्रत, दूसरे नंबर की गाँठ का नाम  स्वप्न और तीसरे नंबर का  नाम सुषुप्ति।  अब ये तीनों चक्कर लगाएंगी। जब पहली चली जाती है तो दूसरी आती है।  जब दूसरी चली जाती है तब तीसरी आ जाती है। और जब तीसरी जाती है तब फिर पहली वाली आ जाती है। इस तरह यह प्रक्रिया चलती रहती है । इनमें कोई भी परमानेंट नहीं है और किसी ने किसी को देखा भी नहीं है। कोई एक चौथा है जिसने पहली को भी देखा, दूसरी को भी देखा और तीसरी को भी देखा। वही चौथा बता पाता है कि जाग्रत आया था फिर स्वप्न आया फिर सुषुप्ति आयी थी। अर्थात्  इन का गवाही कौन है, साक्षी कौन है ? क्या जाग्रत मेरी गैरहाजिरी में हुई? स्वप्न, सुषुप्ति क्या मेरी गैरहाजिरी में हुईं? क्या सुषुप्ति(गहरी नींद)  जाग्रत की गवाह है या जाग्रत सुषुप्ति की गवाह है? इन तीनों में जो गवाह है वह आप हैं।
