आप चुनाव ना करो! जागो! चुनाव के बिना जागो! अभी चुनाव हो गया है, आप चुनाव ना करो, जागो! आप चुनाव करते हो कि इसमें जगना है, इसमें नहीं जगना। यह मेरे ख्याल में नहीं आना चाहिए, यह मेरे ख्याल में आना चाहिए यह चुनाव कर लिया। पर चुनाव मत करो। ‘चुनाव राजनीति में होता है, अध्यात्म में चुनाव नहीं होता।’ चुनाव छोड़ दो, चुनाव के पचड़े में मत पड़ो। आप तो जागना सीखो!  फिर देखो! कहोगे आज मेरा ध्यान नहीं लगा क्योंकि ध्यान में भी चुन लिया, इसका करूंगा! गुरुजी का किया तो घरवाली आ गई, चुनाव किया राम-राम का तो बीच में मंत्र दूसरा आ गया, चुनाव किया राम का कृष्ण आ गए। लोग यही तो शिकायत करते हैं। एक ने यही शिकायत की कि हमारा मन किसी इष्ट में पक्का नहीं बनता, कभी राम का करता हूं तो कभी कृष्ण, कभी कृष्ण का करता हूं तो शिवजी अच्छे लगते हैं, किसको बड़ा मानूं? इसी में पड़े हो? बड़े तो तुम हो! 
एक चुटकुला सुना देता हूँ। किसी ने कहा जो ताकतवर होता है वह भगवान होता है। तो उसने ताकतवर को भगवान मान लिया। अब क्या है कि उसने चूहा पाल रखा था। अब एक दिन बिल्ली झपटी तो चूहा भागा, नहीं तो वह खा लेती। तो चूहा भगवान नहीं है बिल्ली भगवान है! बिल्ली को खिलाने लगा, दूध पिलाने लगा, पालने लगा। तो एक दिन आया कुत्ता। तो बिल्ली भागी। तो उसने सोचा बिल्ली भगवान नहीं, शक्तिमान भगवान होता है तो कुत्ता भगवान है। तो कुत्ता को पाल लिया। अब एक दिन घरवाली इधर उधर हो गई तो कुत्ता भाग गया रोटी पकड़कर। तो पत्नी ने मारा डंडा तो कुत्ता भों भों करता भागा। तो कहता है, लो! यही (पत्नी) भगवान है अब पत्नी हो गई भगवान! अब वह पत्नी को आरती पूजा करना करने लगा पर रोटी वही बनाती थी चाहे भगवान हो गई! अब बनाने में एक दिन नमक दाल कुछ गड़बड़ हो गई तो उसको डांट दिया और थप्पड़ भी मार दिया। उस समय होश नहीं रहा कि यह भगवान है। तुम्हारा भी भगवान ऐसा ही है, मन का ना हो तो तुरंत रिजेक्ट कर देते हैं। तो भगवान रिजेक्ट कर दिया। पत्नी को  कहता है वह ‘अभी तो मैं ही भगवान हूं’ क्योंकि ताकतवर वही निकला ना! क्योंकि अभी तक तो माने हुए थे पता नहीं कब खिसक जाए। किसको गुरुजी कहो, कहो कब लड़ पड़ो ! भगवान भी है और लढ़ भी पड़े और श्रद्धा भी चली गई क्योंकि तुमने माना है, चाहे जब रिजेक्ट कर दो! तो यह माने हुए भगवान है। इसलिए अब कुछ मत मानो। विपश्यना का सूत्र है- जागो, जो होता है होने दो, रुको नहीं, झुको नहीं, बढ़े चलो, बढ़े चलो! रुको भी नहीं झुको भी नहीं! किसी को कुछ मत कहो, जागे रहो! पर अंतिम स्थिति सबसे कठिन है। कितना भी जागो, चाहे विपश्यना कर लो, चाहे कुछ भी कर लो, आखिरी सूत्र क्या है? कि अवेयरनेस भी गई, सावधानी भी गई! किसी की तो जाती है! यह सजगता भी खो जाती है। चेतना भी नहीं रहती। क्यों? ‘इच्छा द्वेष  सुखं दुखं संघातश्चेतना धृति’ यह प्रकृति के विकार है। यह वृत्ति है। जागे हैं, वृत्ति है। वृतिका तो लय होगा।  वृति कभी नहीं रहेगी। तो कोई नहीं बचा क्या? बुद्ध शून्य  कहते हैं, हम शून्य  नहीं कहते, हम चैतन्य कहते हैं। वृत्ति के अभाव का बाद में भी ख्याल आए कि इतनी देर कोई ख्याल नहीं था, चैतन्यता भी नहीं रही थी, मुझे पता ही नहीं था कि उस समय मैं सो गया था या जागा था, मुढ़ावस्था थी कि क्या था? ध्यान करते करते ऐसी जगह कि जहां कुछ वर्णन नहीं कर सकते। पर वर्णन नहीं कर सकते उस अवस्था में था कौन? यह जगाना है। जहां आपका होश भी काम नहीं देता, जहां आप वर्णन भी नहीं कर सकते, क्या बताऊं! 
 तब भी थे तुम ही! ‘अनात्माश्रयाहं न मुक्तिर्नमेय’  मैं अनात्म अनुभवों का आश्रय हूं! सभी अनुभूतियां! कुछ भी हुई हो, मेरे बिना नहीं हुई। इसलिए ‘हम आत्मवादी लोग हैं। बुद्ध शून्यवादी है, कहते हैं वहां शून्य हैं। हम कहते हैं वहां आप है! इस आत्मा के अस्तित्व को जानो!’
