प्रश्न— आत्मा सर्वाधार है तो प्राण ,मन क्या करता है पूज्य गुरुदेव समझाते हैं—


} प्राण शरीर को जीवित रखता है,चेतन नहीं रखता।शरीर को जीवित रखना, सड़ने नहीं देना, गलने नहीं देना, बिगड़ने नहीं देना, शरीर की सुरक्षा करना प्राण का काम है।सुख,दुख, दर्द आदि मन से होता है। मन नींद में सो जाता है।


} प्राण नींद में,कोमा में भी काम करता है। प्राण जब तक शरीर में रहता है, तब तक मन कहीं जाये (जैसे सो जाये, बेहोश हो जाये) फिर आ जायेगा।


} प्राण कार ,जहाज है,मन ड्राइवर,पायलट है। पायलट जहाँ ले जाना चाहता है, जहाज़ को उड़ा ले जाता है।जहाज़ अपनी मर्जी से नहीं जाता।पायलट की ही मर्जी से जाता है।जहाज़ ड्राइवर के अधीन है। इसलिए दूसरे शरीर में मन प्राण के साथ जाता है। अकेला मन दूसरे शरीर में नहीं जा सकता। लेकिन इस अर्थ में मन की प्रधानता है कि जहाँ चाहे प्राण को ले जाये।


} प्राण का अपना महत्व है। इसलिए सबको प्राणी बोलते हैं। पेड़ प्राणी है लेकिन जीवधारी नहीं है। जीव तब होता है जब मन और इन्द्रियाँ हो। जब मन और इन्द्रियाँ नहीं हैं, तो प्राणी हो। सुषुप्ति में आप प्राणी हो,जीवित भी हो मरे नहीं हो सुख, दुख, ज्ञान आदि कुछ नहीं है। एक तरह से आप पेड़ हो।


} आत्मा के बल पर प्राण भी है, मन भी है,तथा इन्द्रियाँ भी है। यहाँ तक कि पेड़, पहाड़,पृथ्वी, जल, दीवार जिसके सहारे हैं,वह आत्मा है। पर आत्मा के कारण दुख -सुख नहीं हैं। वे मन के कारण है। प्राण के कारण जीवित हैं, आत्मा के कारण नहीं।इसलिए जिसमें प्राण नहीं है वह निर्जव है।

जीव और ब्रह्म में इतना ही भेद है,जितना पृथ्वी में और मिट्टी में।हम पृथ्वी को भी सत्य नहीं मानते।जितना झूठा घड़ा है,उतनी झूठी पृथ्वी; पर घडो़ं का नाश हमने देखा है,पृथ्वी का नाश हमने नहीं देखा।इसलिए पृथ्वी अक्षर लगती है,घड़ा क्षर लगता है।


} मिट्टी में पृथ्वी कल्पित है। एक होता है –घटाकाश और एक है–महाकाश।महाकाश ईश्वर है, घटाकाश जीव है।”महा” और “घटा” क्या होता है। महा माने ईश्वर, मकान; घटा माने जीव,घड़ा। घड़ा तोड़ो,महा कौन है। छोटा कौन है। सिर्फ आकाश है। तो घट उपाधि से महाकाश कल्पित है। यदि जीव झूठा है तो ईश्वर अपने आप झूठा है। ब्रह्म सत्य है,ब्रह्म माने आकाश। दूसरा उदाहरण; आप छोटे भाई हो या बड़े। यदि बड़ा भाई न हो तो तुम कौन से भाई हो। अर्थात इकलौती संतान हो न छोटा न बड़ा।


} पूज्य गुरुदेव समझाते हैं, चेतन एक है,वह न ईश्वर है,न जीव है। घटाकाश,महाकाश से मिल नहीं पाया। जब मिला तो न घटाकाश रहा, न महाकाश। पहले मैं चेला था, वे गुरु थे। जब समझ में आया न मैं चेला न वे गुरु। स्वामी राम कहते हैं कि मैं न बन्दा था,न खुदा था मुझे मालूम न था; दोनो इल्लत, दोनों उपाधि, दोनों ख्याल थे।यह घटाकाश, महाकाश यह हमारे ख्याल हैं।आकाश आकाश है; न छोटा ,न बड़ा। दोनों इल्लत से जुदा था,मुझे मालूम न था।
